Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the jet's front window, per an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first time that a US military aircraft ferrying a high-ranking official has suffered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
