Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
