Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
